Loyola College of Business alumni to hear news on the city’s fight against corruption and fraud from Inspector General Robert Cerasoli

New Orleans is serious about cleaning up its image, and the new inspector general, Robert Cerasoli, is the broom appointed to sweep out waste and corruption within city government. Cerasoli, who was recently featured in the “Washington Post”, will be the guest speaker during Loyola’s 23rd Annual Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business Alumni Luncheon on Friday, March 7, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.

Loyola University’s spring theatre season opens tonight with “9 Parts of Desire” and visit from playwright

The Loyola University New Orleans Department of Theatre Arts and Dance proudly presents “9 Parts of Desire,” a play by Heather Raffo. Directed by Laura Hope, “9 Parts of Desire” is a work designed to be so compassionate and heartbreakingly human that it will change the way audiences think about the women of the Middle East.

Black History Month and Women’s Month celebrated through theatre at Loyola

Dr. Maryse Condé, acclaimed creative writer from the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, will visit Loyola on March 6 for the staging of her play, “Comme Deux Frères" (“Like Two Brothers”), followed by a public lecture in Roussel Performance Hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., respectively.

French vocal youth group to perform tonight at Loyola

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and Fine Arts and the Consulate General of France in New Orleans is proud to present Le Groupe Vocal Opera Junior, from Montpellier, France, as part of the 2008 Montage Fine and Performing Arts Series. The group will perform on Friday, February 22, at 7 p.m., in Roussel Performance Hall.

Acclaimed violist Hsaiopei Lee to perform at Loyola University

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and Fine Arts is proud to present Hsaiopei Lee, violist, as part of the Montage Series. Lee will perform pieces from a variety of periods by composers who include Schumann, Franck, and Paganini. The performance takes place Tuesday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m., in Nunemaker Auditorium.
