Loyola's student newspaper earns top honors from the Louisiana Press Association

The Loyola University New Orleans student-run newspaper, The Maroon, earned the Louisiana Press Association's top General Excellence Award last Saturday, in addition to capturing first place in its division for both best news or feature story and best sports story or feature. First place in the General Excellence category is given every year to the state's top college newspaper, according to the Louisiana Press Association.

Loyola Institute for Ministry to hold virtual open house, webinar on spirituality

The Loyola Institute for Ministry, in cooperation with the Archdiocese of New Orleans, is hosting the free webinar, "The Roman Missal: A Look at the New Translation," on Tuesday, May 15 at 8 p.m. The presentation, by the Rev. Stephen Sauer, S.J., pastor of the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception in New Orleans, is dedicated to providing a deeper understanding of the recent changes to the language of the Roman Catholic Mass.

Andre Perry receives the Kappa Alpha Psi Distinguished Citizen Award

Andre Perry, Ph.D., associate director for educational initiatives at the Institute for Quality and Equity in Education at Loyola University New Orleans, was recently honored with the Kappa Alpha Psi Distinguished Citizen Award, presented at the fraternity's 76th southwestern province council public meeting held at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street in downtown New Orleans.
