Alumni relive their Loyola experience this summer

New Saints president to teach at Alumni College

Loyola University New Orleans College of Business alumnus Dennis Lauscha, M.B.A. '93, the newly promoted president of the New Orleans Saints, will return to campus to teach a course on the business of professional football at the inaugural Alumni College, which will be held June 22-24. "The New Orleans Saints: The Business of Football" is one of many courses that will be taught by Loyola's outstanding current and retired faculty and alumni, and will be grouped into tracks that will help identify topics of particular interest.

Bateman team takes home seventh national title

The Loyola University New Orleans Bateman team continued its dominance of the nation's premier case study competition for public relations students, winning its seventh national title since 2000 last week in Minneapolis, Minn. Loyola topped teams from the University of Florida and the University of Maryland-College Park in the finals to take their third title in the last five years. Seventy colleges from across the U.S. took part in this year's Bateman competition.

The Alumni Association at Loyola University New Orleans will honor former voice and French diction teacher, Mary Tortorich '42, at a reunion celebration on Loyola's main campus on June 9, 2012.

Loyola philosophy student wins Fulbright Summer Institute Scholarship

Andrew Albert, a junior philosophy major at Loyola University New Orleans, was recently awarded a prestigious 2012 Fulbright Summer Institute Scholarship to study at Newcastle University in Newcastle, U.K. Albert was selected as one of only 50 students from across the United States to be invited to participate in the four-week program, in which he will examine Europe's current and future role in a global economy.

As part of the Loyola University New Orleans ongoing centennial celebration, the Krewe of Tucks is looking for Loyola alumni, faculty, staff or students to fill 20 spots in Loyola's centennial float in the 2013 Krewe of Tucks Mardi Gras Parade on Feb. 9, 2013.
