Loyola brings environmental geographer, biologist to campus

In the spring of 2012, Loyola University New Orleans offered its first course in urban geography and the geography of New Orleans through the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences. Richard Campanella, a highly-regarded environmental geographer, was brought to campus to teach the course, Urban Geography: New Orleans Case Study.

Vocal studies professor honored as distinguished alumnus at alma mater

Philip Frohnmayer, the Mary Freeman Wisdom Distinguished Professor of Opera and chair of vocal studies at Loyola University New Orleans, was recently awarded the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Oregon’s School of Music and Dance. He graduated with a Master of Music from the university in 1972.

M. Isabel Medina, the Ferris Family Distinguished Professor of Law at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, presented a paper at the 2012 International Conference on Law and Society in Honolulu, Hawaii last month.

Loyola's School of Nursing holds virtual open houses

Primary care health professionals are needed now more than ever as the country prepares to deliver unprecedented medical coverage to its citizens through the Affordable Care Act. Loyola University New Orleans’ School of Nursing has expanded its commitment to preparing the primary care workforce and is holding several online open houses in July and August for qualified nurses interested in pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Russian law students return to states for third year
