Free choral events on tap for Montage Series

March 28, 2013

Two free choral events at Loyola University New Orleans next month will showcase the wide variety of vocal talent and artistry in the Montage Fine and Performing Arts Series. All events are open to the public.

The Loyola Chorale and University Chorus, directed by Meg Frazier, D.M.A., will sing Randall Thompson’s “Peaceable Kingdom” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Mass in G Minor” Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. in Roussel Hall. The program will feature student conductors Max Welch and Morgan Carr.

On Sunday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m., the Loyola University Chamber Singers will present an eclectic concert of sacred music in Holy Name of Jesus Church. The program will include selections by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Olivier Messiaen, among others, and will once again feature student conductors Welch and Carr, as well as Justin Schuetz.

Free parking for all events is available in the West Road Garage, accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
