Saturday: Diboll Gallery hosts reception for 'Ricky's Dragon' exhibit

Artist Seth Gadsden and filmmaker Sam Fleischner opened their collaborative exhibit, "Ricky's Dragon," last week at Loyola University New Orleans. The artists' reception will take place Saturday, June 29 from 2-4 p.m. in the Collins C. Diboll Gallery, located on the fourth floor of the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library.

Alumnus to hold book signing for his account of Loyola's 1945 national basketball championship

Loyola University New Orleans alumnus and journalist Ramon Vargas '09 will host a book signing July 14 for his new book about Loyola's 1945 national basketball championship. "Fight, Grin and Squarely Play the Game: The 1945 Loyola New Orleans Basketball Championship and Legacy" chronicles the heartfelt personal narratives of the 1944-45 Loyola Wolf Pack as they became the city's first basketball team to earn a national championship. The signing will be from 2 4 p.m. at the Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania St.
